REVIEW from Cherry's SOLD OUT Stables gig... - February 2, 2009
Here's Rob Felton's review from Cherry's SOLD OUT Stables gig!
Firstly let me thank all those who made the trip to Milton Keynes to see Cherry's much anticipated show @ The Stables.
By the time Cherry and the boys hit the stage the room was packed to bursting point and the audience quickly warmed as the band ripped into "Cherry Wine". What followed was a joy to behold, the sound and lighting was excellent and the attentive audience was hanging on every note. Cherry sang her way through her impressive song book of Blues & Roots music and the band was, as ever brilliant, it was a great performance in the truest sense of the word.
Can I recommend to those who haven't managed to see Cherry sing "live" that do so if she's ever in your neck of the woods. When Cherry's on stage you are never short changed, every ounce of emotion is rung from every note and at the end you can be sure there was no more to give.
Cherry would also like to extend her thanks to The Ben Poole Band who were on the same bill and delivered an excellent set also.
Cherry's next gig is in Danny's Bar @ Esquires next Sunday 8th Feb and will be kicking off about 4:30pm, it is free entry. It's gonna be another special as Cherry has put together a full band for this one so it is definitely one not to miss. Come along and see what all the fuss is about!

CHERRY LEE MEWIS
NOW PREFERS TO GO AU NATURALE
“I was constantly trying to get myself heard, while still trying to 'find' myself as an artist. I was recording a lot and although I felt I was under commercial constraints, I was able to develop my songwriting and do things with my voice I didn't know I could do! With 'Little Girl Blue', I really feel I have done the music I love - but I still have so much more to give!”
